After choosing your part of the federal government entity (department, agency, commission, bureau, Congressional committee, etc.), research the following aspects:

| When & why was it started |
| What did it do in its first years in existence |
| Who is currently in charge |
| What does it do today |
| How does it do it…what are some of the powers it has, as well as the subdivisions |
| What is the total budget for this entity, and how is it spent |
| What do critics say about this entity, i.e. what are some of the complaints about it |
Minimum
Requirements:
| Word processed and spell checked (yes, spelling counts) |
| All
writing not in quotes must be your own, and all quoted items must be
referenced to identify where it came from. No more than 20% of your paper
can be quoted material. Any more than that will result in deductions. Any instances of plagiarism will result in no credit for the assignment |
| A title page containing a title, your name & date |
| Two full pages, double spaced, size 12 font, in Times New Roman |
| A references page identifying all references used |
